Tennessee is three states, and it says so on the flag with three stars: the mountains in the east, the farmland in the middle, and the delta in the west. Each has its own music, bluegrass and country and blues, which is a lot of the American songbook out of one place. Nashville and Memphis do not much resemble each other. Go for the Great Smokies, the most visited national park there is, and for a night on Beale Street and a day at Sun Studio.
