Michigan is two peninsulas surrounded by more fresh water than anywhere else in the country, and a state that built the car industry and then survived what happened to it. Detroit invented the assembly line, Motown and techno, and is in the middle of a long, uneven comeback. The Upper Peninsula is a different place entirely, closer to Wisconsin and Canada in spirit. Go for Sleeping Bear Dunes and the Pictured Rocks, and eat a pasty in the UP, which the Cornish miners brought.
More coastline than any state but Alaska, none of it ocean.

This one is still on the board. $15 and it is yours, and then it is somebody else's problem to take it back.
